0. Important Notice

Bourse Markets ("Bourse," "the Platform," "we," "us," or "our") is a paper-trading simulation built for the DemocracyCraft Minecraft server community. All currency used on the Platform is in-game virtual currency with no real-world monetary value, and is not redeemable for real currency, goods, or services outside the DemocracyCraft server. Bourse does not execute real-world securities trades, does not hold real-world assets on your behalf, and is not a bank, broker-dealer, investment advisor, or money transmitter of any kind. Nothing on the Platform constitutes real-world financial, investment, tax, or legal advice. This document is an in-game/community Terms of Service, not a real-world legal contract, and is governed entirely by the rules of the DemocracyCraft server.

By creating an account, connecting your Discord account, or otherwise accessing or using Bourse, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the Platform.

2. Eligibility

2.1. You must be an active member of the DemocracyCraft Minecraft server community to hold a Bourse Account.

2.2. Bourse Accounts are created and authenticated exclusively through Discord OAuth. You must have a valid Discord account linked to your DemocracyCraft identity to use the Platform. Bourse does not support username/password authentication, email sign-up, or any other login method.

2.3. One Account per person. Operating multiple Accounts (via alternate Discord accounts, shared devices, or otherwise) to circumvent fees, manipulate leaderboard standings, exploit promotional offers, or otherwise gain unfair advantage is prohibited and treated as Prohibited Conduct under Section 10.

2.4. Because Bourse operates within a Minecraft server community that may include minors, all users are expected to comply with Discord's Terms of Service and the DemocracyCraft server's own community and age-related rules. Bourse does not independently verify age and relies on Discord and DemocracyCraft membership standing for eligibility.

2.5. Bourse Markets reserves the right to refuse, suspend, or terminate any Account at its discretion, including for reasons unrelated to a violation of these Terms, subject to Section 12 (Suspension & Termination).

3. Nature of the Platform; No Real-World Value

3.1. Bourse is a paper trading simulator. Positions in "stocks" reflect real-world market data (e.g., ticker prices) for realism and educational/entertainment purposes only. No real-world shares, securities, or financial instruments are ever purchased, sold, held, or transferred by Bourse Markets or BourseTreasury.

3.2. All currency on the Platform is in-game currency native to the DemocracyCraft server's economy. It has no value outside DemocracyCraft and cannot be exchanged for real-world money. Deposits are not insured by the DOC (Department of Commerce) or any other entity — no balances on the Platform, whether held as Cash Balance or invested in Positions, are insured against loss.

3.3. Market data displayed on the Platform (prices, charts, tickers) is sourced from third-party real-world market data feeds and may be delayed, inaccurate, incomplete, or interrupted. Bourse does not guarantee the accuracy, timeliness, or availability of any price data, and simulated execution prices may differ from real-world market prices at any given moment.

3.4. Nothing on the Platform, including any analytics, leaderboards, price alerts, or other tools, constitutes investment advice, a recommendation, or an endorsement of any real-world security or strategy.

4. Accounts, Deposits & Withdrawals

4.1 Currency Flow. Users fund their Bourse Account by depositing in-game currency, which is credited to their Cash Balance in full at the point of entry into the Platform. Withdrawals reverse this, returning funds to the user's linked in-game account. No user action is required beyond initiating a deposit or withdrawal.

4.2 Processing. Deposits and withdrawals are processed by BourseTreasury via the DemocracyCraft Economy API. Bourse is not responsible for delays, failures, or errors originating from the DemocracyCraft Economy API or the underlying Minecraft server infrastructure.

4.3 Withdrawal Availability. Only your uninvested Cash Balance is available for withdrawal. To withdraw funds tied up in open Positions, you must first sell those Positions (subject to the Trading Fee in Section 5), converting them back to Cash Balance.

4.4 Errors. If a deposit or withdrawal is processed in error (whether due to a Platform bug, Economy API malfunction, or user error), Bourse Markets reserves the right to correct the Account balance to reflect the accurate, intended state, including reversing erroneous credits.

5. Trading Fees

5.1. A fee of 1% of transaction value is applied to every buy order and every sell order executed on the Platform (the "Trading Fee").

5.2. The Trading Fee is always calculated and deducted server-side, at the moment of trade execution, based on the executed price and quantity. It cannot be waived, negotiated, or bypassed by the user through any client-side action.

5.3. The Trading Fee is charged in addition to the trade's principal amount. For a buy order, the Trading Fee is deducted from Cash Balance alongside the purchase cost. For a sell order, the Trading Fee is deducted from the proceeds before they are credited to Cash Balance.

5.4. Trading Fee rates are subject to change as described in Section 9 (Fee Changes). Eligible Bourse+ subscribers may receive a reduced Trading Fee rate as a subscription perk (see Section 8).

6. Weekly Holdings Fee

6.1. In addition to the Trading Fee, a Holdings Fee of 0.5% of Holdings Value is assessed on a weekly basis against every Account with one or more open Positions.

6.2 Calculation. The Holdings Fee is calculated as 0.5% of the total mark-to-market value of a user's open Positions at the time of assessment, using prevailing simulated prices. Cash Balance is not subject to the Holdings Fee.

6.3 Payment Priority. The Holdings Fee is first deducted from the user's Cash Balance, if sufficient funds are available.

6.4 Automatic Liquidation. If Cash Balance is insufficient to cover the Holdings Fee in full, Bourse will automatically liquidate a pro-rata slice of every open Position — meaning shares are sold proportionally across all of a user's holdings (rather than targeting any single position) — in an amount sufficient to cover the shortfall. Because the fee itself is calculated as a percentage of the same Holdings Value being liquidated against, this mechanism is mathematically guaranteed to be sufficient to cover the fee in full; there is no scenario under normal operation where liquidation proceeds fall short of the amount owed.

6.5. Liquidation for purposes of the Holdings Fee is executed at prevailing simulated market prices at the time of liquidation and is itself not subject to the standard 1% Trading Fee described in Section 5, since it is a fee-collection mechanism rather than a discretionary trade. (This treatment may be revisited under Section 9.)

6.6. The Holdings Fee applies uniformly to all Accounts, including dormant Accounts with open Positions and no other Platform activity. Users who do not intend to actively trade should be aware that simply holding Positions will continue to incur the Holdings Fee on a recurring weekly basis indefinitely, for as long as the Position remains open.

6.7. Bourse+ subscribers may receive a reduced Holdings Fee rate as a subscription perk (see Section 8).

6.8. Users acknowledge that the Holdings Fee mechanism, including automatic liquidation, is a core, non-optional feature of the Platform and consent to such liquidation occurring without additional case-by-case authorization each time it occurs.

8. Bourse+ (Subscription Tier)

8.1. Bourse+ is an optional, planned subscription tier that may offer some or all of the following perks: reduced Trading Fee and/or Holdings Fee rates, enhanced analytics, price alerts, a leaderboard badge, CSV export of trading history, and automatic Discord role assignment.

8.2. Availability, pricing, and specific perks of Bourse+ are subject to change prior to and after launch, and will be governed by supplementary terms published at the time Bourse+ becomes available. Nothing in these Terms guarantees the availability of any specific Bourse+ feature.

9. Fee Changes

9.1. Bourse Markets reserves the right to modify the Trading Fee rate, the Holdings Fee rate, the Holdings Fee calculation method, or introduce new fees at any time.

9.2. Material fee changes will be announced via the Platform and/or the DemocracyCraft Discord server with reasonable advance notice where practicable. Continued use of the Platform after a fee change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the new fee structure.

9.3. Fee changes are not retroactive to trades or holdings-fee assessments that have already been executed.

10. Prohibited Conduct

Users may not:

10.1. Exploit bugs, glitches, race conditions, or unintended Platform behavior for financial gain, including but not limited to manipulating fee calculations, order execution, or price feeds.

10.2. Operate multiple Accounts to evade fees, manipulate leaderboards, or abuse promotional or subscription perks.

10.3. Attempt to reverse-engineer, interfere with, or disrupt Bourse's servers, database, or its integration with the DemocracyCraft Economy API.

10.4. Engage in coordinated market manipulation within the simulated trading environment (e.g., wash trading between colluding Accounts) intended to distort simulated prices or leaderboard standings.

10.5. Use automated tools, bots, or scripts to interact with Bourse without prior written authorization from Bourse Markets.

10.6. Attempt to circumvent, reverse, or dispute a properly executed deposit, withdrawal, trade, or fee assessment through the DemocracyCraft Economy API or Minecraft server outside of the dispute process described in Section 11.

10.7. Misrepresent their identity or DemocracyCraft server standing in connection with their Account.

Violation of this Section may result in fee reversal, position adjustment, Account suspension, or termination at Admin discretion, per Section 12.

11. Disputes & Resolution

11.1. All disputes arising from use of the Platform — including disputed trades, fee assessments, liquidations, deposits, or withdrawals — are handled through internal Bourse arbitration, at the sole discretion of Bourse Markets Admins.

11.2. To raise a dispute, a user should contact an Admin through the designated DemocracyCraft Discord channel, providing relevant Account and transaction details.

11.3. Admin decisions on disputes are final and binding within the Platform. There is no external, in-game-nation-level (e.g., national court) or real-world appeal process contemplated by these Terms.

11.4. Admins may, at their discretion, adjust Account balances, reverse erroneous transactions, or grant goodwill credits to resolve disputes, but are under no obligation to do so.

12. Suspension & Termination

12.1. Bourse Markets may suspend or terminate any Account, with or without notice, for violation of these Terms, suspected fraud or exploitation, at the request of DemocracyCraft server moderation, or at its own discretion.

12.2. Upon termination, any withdrawable Cash Balance may be returned to the user's in-game account at Admin discretion, less any outstanding fees or amounts owed. Bourse Markets is not obligated to liquidate and return the value of open Positions upon termination for cause.

12.3. Users may voluntarily close their Account at any time by liquidating all open Positions (subject to standard Trading Fees) and withdrawing their remaining Cash Balance.

13. Platform Availability & Force Majeure

13.1. Bourse is provided on an "as-is" and "as-available" basis. Bourse Markets does not guarantee uninterrupted access to the Platform, real-time market data accuracy, or continuous availability of the DemocracyCraft Economy API.

13.2. Bourse Markets is not liable for losses (in-game or otherwise) resulting from Platform downtime, Minecraft server outages, resets, wipes, DemocracyCraft Economy API failures, third-party market data provider issues, or other circumstances beyond its reasonable control.

13.3. In the event of a DemocracyCraft server wipe or economy reset, Bourse Account balances and Positions may be reset, adjusted, or migrated at Bourse Markets's discretion, with details communicated via the DemocracyCraft Discord server where practicable.

14. Data & Privacy

14.1. Bourse authenticates users solely via Discord OAuth and receives only the Discord profile information necessary for authentication and Account association (e.g., Discord user ID, username).

14.2. Trading activity, Account balances, and Position history are stored to operate the Platform and may be displayed on leaderboards or analytics features visible to other users, in accordance with Platform design.

14.3. Bourse does not knowingly collect real-world financial account information, payment card data, or other sensitive real-world personal data, and users should never attempt to submit such information through the Platform.

15. Limitation of Liability

15.1. Because all currency and assets on Bourse are virtual and confined to the DemocracyCraft in-game economy, Bourse Markets's liability for any dispute, error, or loss is limited to, at most, restoration or adjustment of in-game Bourse Account balances, at Admin discretion.

15.2. Bourse Markets, BourseTreasury, and Bourse Markets are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss, including loss of in-game standing, reputation, or anticipated in-game earnings.

16. Amendments

16.1. Bourse Markets may revise these Terms at any time. Material changes will be announced via the Platform and/or DemocracyCraft Discord server. Continued use of Bourse after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

17. Acknowledgment
